HOW TO SPEND FATHER’S DAY IN D-FW
It’s time to celebrate dear ol’ Dad on Sunday, June 21. If you’re looking for a special way to show him you care, consider one of the following Dad-friendly events to make his day extra special.
A good old-fashioned car show: Look for a show in the D-FW area and let your dad spend the day drooling over vintage rides. Try the one at Watters Creek in Allen—it’s free!
A “funtastic” arcade: Head to a full-service arcade like Main Event and spend the day playing! What better way to bond with Dad than with a friendly game of laser tag or bowling?
A thrilling amusement park: You can’t go wrong with any of North Texas’ giant theme parks. Head to Hurricane Harbor to make a splash. Or send your adrenaline soaring on a rollercoaster at Six Flags.
A friendly paintball battle: If your father loves to run, duck and shoot, why not take him out to a paintball park? Check out this list of some arenas your family might enjoy. Run for cover and aim for massive color splats this Father’s Day!
A sunny fishing trip: Catch some fish and a few fond memories on a fishing trip with Dad. Choose from one of several state parks in Texas that allow fishing. Load up the tackle box and take a day trip that’ll be fun for the entire family.
A peaceful picnic in the park: Head out to any local park for a healthy meal al fresco. Remember your blanket, umbrellas and plenty of food.
A craft at the Arboretum: Gather up the children, fathers and grandfathers for a fun morning of building and painting flowerpots and birdhouses at the Rory Meyers Children’s Adventure Garden, hosted by Home Depot.
A constructive day at Legoland Discovery Center: Dads get in free with the purchase of just one full-price ticket. Check it out!
