FOUR WAYS TO IMPROVE YOUR LEMONADE STAND
Whether you’re a first-time owner of a lemonade stand or an experienced entrepreneur, it’s important to know that foot traffic, marketing and taste will keep your customers coming back for seconds—and spreading the word about your business! Your venture stands a good chance of success if you simply follow the tips below.
-
Find a well-traveled location. You’re more likely to get more business if you set up your lemonade stand in a place where people are walking around such as grocery stores, walking trails, festivals, parks and shopping centers. Just make sure you have written permission to set up your stand!
-
Make your stand eye-catching. Your stand will “stand out” with a few simple details. Install an overhead sign rather than one at the base, and make sure your signs are easy to read from far away. Create a color scheme—brights such as orange and red are known for attracting patrons to food-related businesses. Make a cute menu of prices and flavors, too!
-
Find a unique recipe. In addition to the classic mixture of water, lemons and sugar, think about adding a fun summertime element like watermelon, strawberries or peaches. Do something to set your recipe apart such as making lemonade ice pops, putting a scoop of citrus-flavored sorbet in the bottom of the glasses or adding an easy-to-make food to the menu that will complement your lemonade.
-
Improve your marketing. Think about ways to get the message out to people about your stand leading up to the day of the sale. Promote it on Facebook and Instagram accounts; blog about it; email your friends and family and ask them to spread the word; talk to local publications about donating ad space to your stand.
Good luck!
